6/6/14 Predicting the Projections of Fantasy Football Now…93% Accurate

So anyway, a few a days ago I boldly predicted that I’d be able to accurately forecast the players that ESPN would have in their top five in each fantasy football position.  I thought I’d get 4 out of 5 correct in 5 out of 6 categories.

Here’s how I did.  The BOLD means I correctly predicted ESPN would have that player in their top five at that position.  Furthermore, The BOLD/ITALICS/RED* indicates that I had the exact order of the top five correctly predicted for that position.

1. Manning 1. Peterson 1. Johnson 1. Graham 1. Gostkowski 1. Seattle
2. Rodgers 2. McCoy 2. Thomas 2. Thomas 2. Prater 2. San Francisco
3. Brees 3. Charles 3. Green 3. Gronkowski 3. Hauschka 3. Carolina
4. Newton 4. Forte 4. Bryant 4. Davis 4. Tucker 4. Kansas City
5. Stafford 5. Lynch 5. Marshall 5. Witten 5. Dawson 5. Arizona

Good lord!  I got 28 out of 30 correct.  Plus, I was perfect in guessing the exact order at RB, WR, and TE.

But the sad truth is, I can’t pat myself on the back for this.  We all know who the studs are.  I mean, am I really ready to put Nick Foles in the top 5 club for QBs?  Is Frank Gore even a top 10 guy anymore?  The point is, these projections are extremely self-evident.  And that’s what should scare you.  If you’re working off a cheat sheet or website rankings, your list is going to look almost identical to everyone else’s list in the league.

I didn’t make the finals in 12 out of 24 league last year because my preseason projections were significantly more accurate than the other guys’ (just slightly more accurate).  No.  I made the finals in 12 out of 24 leagues because I used the Fantasy Football Draft Matrix© to draft my team and my own projections to set my lineups each week.

What do you think?  Will the other guys in your league pretty much have the access to the same info you do when drafting and setting your lineup?
